Short answers about Memora 1.3.0.

Yes. On Linux (x86_64 or arm64) and Windows (x64) with Node 18 or newer: npm install -g @codrihub/memora, then run memora. The package carries the prebuilt binaries and the web UI, nothing is downloaded at install time. On macOS use Docker for now.

Yes, natively on Windows 10 and 11 (x64): npm install -g @codrihub/memora, or download the Windows zip from GitHub Releases, unzip it and run memora.exe. memora-cli setup and status run in PowerShell. Docker Desktop works too.

A self-hosted memory vault for you and your AI agents. Your notes stay plain Markdown files in a folder you choose; Memora wires them into a living brain (3D, graph and canvas views) and serves them to agents over MCP, so what they learn stays.

Yes. Memora is open source on GitHub at github.com/Codrihub/memora. Report bugs and ideas in the repository.

Any MCP client that supports remote HTTP servers: Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code / Copilot, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Windsurf and others connect directly with a key. Clients that support MCP authorization, such as Claude and ChatGPT, connect with OAuth after you approve them in the browser. Clients that only run local (stdio) servers, such as the Claude Desktop config file, connect through mcp-remote.

On your machine, as plain Markdown files in a vault folder you pick. Nothing is locked in: you can open, edit, back up or move the folder with any tool. The vault is git-backed, so every note keeps a revision history you can diff and restore.

Only what you allow. Each agent has its own key with its own scopes (mcp, read, write, admin) and its own tool list; write tools need the write scope. Any note or folder can be limited to all agents, all agents except some, or only chosen agents.

Yes. The web app is fully responsive with a phone layout (tab bar, bottom sheets, a touch brain controller) and can be installed as an app (PWA).

No cloud account. Memora runs on your laptop, a home server or a VPS and works on localhost or your local network. If you want agents to reach it from anywhere, put it behind a tunnel or a reverse proxy on your own domain.

One Rust binary serves the HTTP API, the MCP endpoint, the web UI and live updates on a single port, with all server state in one embedded SQLite database. Install it with Docker Compose (linux/amd64 and linux/arm64), the native installer for Linux x86_64 / aarch64 with systemd, or build it from source.

Every read, write, search and sign-in shows up live in Activity: by day, by agent or as a summary, with filters, search, export (JSON/CSV) and a detail page per agent. The brain lights up the notes agents touch as it happens.

Yes. Turn a key off or on, change its permissions, limit its tools, make a new key or delete the agent. MCP tools can also be switched off globally for every agent.

No. Memora is open source under the MIT license and runs on your own hardware.
